The calculation of H/C can get complicated, because the ratio is most commonly calculated as H/C = H/C so H. The ratios of H/C, C/N and O/C need to be individual for each compound, i.e. per compound and not per many compounds. That is because C, O and N have several isotopes that have different H/C ratios, and not all the isotopes of the same element have the same H/C ratio.
The C/N ratio is also calculated many times, and in future versions of the code, when we calculate a ratio for each compound individually, we will make the ratio of the number of Cs to the total number of Cs rather than to N.
If you are using the standard EA code with or without the dayy.c file, you will need to modify the ipf PK_elemAnal_1_08.ipf to use whatever your H/C ratio is for each species you are measuring. A proper CV approximation will work for an atmosphere, but you may need to make a special test non-ambient calculation for lab data and modify your HR definition.
